The Himeji Castle Marathon will finally be held tomorrow!
This is one of Japan’s most popular marathon events, where runners can race with the magnificent Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as the backdrop. Runners from all over the country will be gathering here in Himeji ✨
🚗 Traffic Restrictions Notice
On the day of the event, traffic restrictions will be implemented throughout the city.
Extended road closures and vehicle restrictions are scheduled, particularly in the following areas:
- Around Himeji Castle
- Otemae-dori Street
- Central city area to the Yumesaki area
If you are visiting by car or planning to go sightseeing, please take note.

Depending on the time of day, some crossings may not be accessible, so we recommend checking in advance.
