Ichinomiya, once crucial to the establishment of Harima Province, is home to Japan’s oldest written records of sake brewing, found in the Harima no Kuni Fudoki. This cycling tour takes you through hand-dug tunnels and peaceful back roads as you journey towards the birthplace of fermentation.
In the sake brewery district of Yamazaki, where several sake breweries still remain, you’ll have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a health-conscious fermented meal for lunch, rejuvenating your body after the cycling ride.
