On the final day of the chamomile harvest, Saturday the 24th, you can enjoy a full day of fun!
We’re welcoming volunteers on other days too! Come enjoy some peaceful, healing moments in the chamomile fields this lovely season.



Chamomile Harvest Final Day Event

Kōdera Herb Garden’s annual chamomile harvest concludes with a special Lantern Release event.
We will also be offering hands-on activities for all ages throughout the day.

Event Details
Location: Kōdera Herb Garden and Former Yamanouchi Elementary School Gym

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Drone Experience Workshop (held in the gym of the former Yamanouchi Elementary School)

4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Traditional rice cooking and miso soup making
Firewood chopping and fire-starting experience
Make-your-own rice balls (please bring your preferred fillings)

Lantern Release
Admission is free! Come and join us on the lawn at the former Yamanouchi Elementary School.
¥3,000 per lantern Write your wish on a lantern and release it into the sky.(Limited quantity. Reservation recommended.)

Japanese Sweets Workshop in a Traditional Home

Would you like to experience making traditional Japanese sweets in a serene, authentic Japanese-style home?
In this relaxing setting, you will create two types of seasonal "jo-namagashi" (artisanal Japanese sweets), and enjoy them with a cup of freshly prepared matcha tea.

Date: May 24 (Friday)

Session Times (approx. 1 hour each):
① 2:00 PM
② 3:30 PM
③ 5:00 PM

Maximum Capacity: 5 participants per session
